Abraham Lincoln, his wife Mary, and three of his four sons are buried at
Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois. The bodies of President Lincoln and
his son Willie were first placed in the cemetery's temporary receiving vault in 1865.
The permanent structure shown here was designed by Larkin G. Mead and dedicated in 1874.
Mead also created most of the exterior sculpture.
